My Unconventional Worship

I contemplated not sharing this playlist because it means so much to me and I am afraid of how people may respond. I know many will say that the only voice of God is through the Bible and I do not completely disagree, for I have studying it. However, I also believe if you study the word and openly seek God, He will reveal Himself in many ways.

Though I encourage studying the word for yourself, I also want to emphasize that I have no authority to teach His word or to guide anyone in their own spirituality. I do, however, believe it is necessary to share things I experience.

Music has always been a tether to spirituality for me for as long as I can remember. My favorite, more traditional worship song was and still is Open the Eyes of My Heart. As I have gotten older, I have gotten more stubborn and independent in worshiping. God knows this of me and I believe He has been trying to connect with me through ways I have yet to fully comprehend. I began to hear Him in songs I have been listening to for a long time. Suddenly they sounded different and took on new meanings.

I do not believe the majority of these songs were ever intended for worship. Many of them may even seem absurd to use as worship to some people. Some of these songs are obvious as to why I put them here. But all of these songs have brought me closer to God in one way or another.

I do not like that I am leaving this playlist here without any explanation as to what each song means to me but I also cannot describe each one here on this post. If you have any questions about a song, please, email me at slward1346@gmail.com and I will be more than happy to give more context. Like I said, I have no authority to teach His word but I feel a need to share my personal journey.

Thank you all, happy listening and God bless!
