I knew a boy
With long blonde hair
And eyes wider than the moon
Always fixed on the next adventure
The clothes he used to wear
Were chosen with care
And so was the makeup, shoes and hair
To fit into the box he was given
I know a boy
Who cut his hair
And finally sees a future
Still willing to travel home now and then
In clothes that finally match his style
And a genuinely happy smile
He walked along for many miles
To forget that box

This is the purpose of poetry. To place the reader in the midst of a feeling or emotion. So much so that they are impacted themselves. This poem did all that with beauty!
