I am scared

I am astonished

I am anxious

I do not know who will open the door

I hope it’s one of you

I hope it’s both of you

For now I’ll wait patiently

While things are sorted

While emotions are tried on

I’ll wait and wildly anticipate

Inclusion and acceptance

I worry about the idea of respect

Whether I should vocalize what I want

Or wait until it aligns with what they do

Holding your hand feels like holding their hand

It sends jitters up my spine

And whirlwinds in my stomach

I am still astonished in a good way

And the frustration is melting into lust

The anxiety is falling into trust

And the fear is more real than ever
