Scars and bumps

All my scars and bumps

Are from days when I was young

Unafraid to make mistakes

To scrape a nose or knee

But I have not made a dent in quite some time

For fear of adding to the canvas

Already covered in mistakes

And uneven skin tones

And stretch marks

And blemishes

When did trees look too high to climb

When did I start biding my time

When did hills become too tough to hike

When did I forget to bike

When did I lose my sense of adventure

Only to replace it with a sense of resentment
