Hometown

on

Born and raised far from

The place I would call my comfort

A stranger in my hometown

Visiting from that concrete haven

Only passing through

These streets I memorized

Get harder to walk

On my last stroll

I hope I’ll get lost

And stray from the road

Through over grown grass

Maybe discover something new

A small redemption

To bring me back once more

But my soles will probably never touch

Anything other than gravel

Love this poem. Very stark. Very real.
