Life is an ever expanding body of water
Everyone is treading to keep afloat
Some sink themselves with the baggage they tied to their ankles
After gasping so long for hope
Many are stripped of their chances to see how long they can swim
By unforeseeable waves and creatures lurking in the deep
Others continue to keep their heads above the surface
Watching the sun drown in the distance every day
Until their bodies follow suit and give in to exhaustion
In the end, all of our bones meet on the ocean floor

Your oceanic poem spells it out:
If there is no resurrection then we are doomed and damned.
