Every morning I roll from my bed
And face life like planting my feet on the shores of an ocean
It is vast and mysterious
Calling me to venture out and explore
Yet I stay here with my toes in the sand
Watching the daylight rise and fall into the horizon
Though I dare to bask in the sun and wonder what’s out there
More so than many of the island’s populace
Who somehow find their own peace hiding inland
Courage to sail the ship I’ve been building has not yet found me

How true is this for most people.

You write beautifully. I can understand what purpose you’re trying to express. You write from the heart and there’s soul and honesty that you were able to put up. Good work. Hey, I hope you could also follow my blog, that would be really cool. Thanks! Kudos! 😊

I heard recently that Courage isn’t always a roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says “I can do this again tomorrow.”

I love that. When writing it, I thought about adding something about taking another step further into the water each day. Thank you!

What a wonderful poem! You are so talented. I’m particularly partial to poetry that references the sea. 🙂

Good poem. When the time is right, the courage will be there. For me, fear is a signal that I should push forward. Thank you for following my blog. -Dawn, CreatetheDawn

Your voyage will be mental as much as (possibly) physical. Think of poetry writing itself as sailing the sea.

Yes! I have loved sailing from a teenager. Finally received an opportunity to sail off the coast of Maine. Loved every single day on the water. Peaceful. Love your sentiments very well. Take good care and thank you for your very valuable follow. I appreciate you. Peace.

Today, your feet may be planted in the sand, tomorrow the curiosity of what lies in the horizon will cause you venture to uncharted places.
Beautiful piece, Shllyn.
Thanks.
