Dear Friend

Dear friend

From time to time

Like this starry night

Your name still runs across my mind

Though we have not spoken in what feels like forever

I often daydream about us in the future

Sitting at some old table with black coffee

As bitter as the stories we’ll share of our hardships

With years of living and laughter printed on our faces

Maybe we’ll finger through the pages of memories

Like the times we would park one of our cars

In a dark, abandoned parking lot right outside of town

Or off the side of a dirt road

To gaze at stars and talk about the future

And how both seem equally far

Maybe we’ll remember our inside jokes

Nights we traded sleep for smoke

And how driving through the quietness of a small town

Seemed like a world all its own

Oh my, friend, how we will have grown

Can we have coke than coffee,
With some unusual touchy touchy by the sock area,
Or can we divulge and do indulge
A bit of Dickinson to Frkst
Or a little Twain to tickle
    What my little pinky
    Can muster.
    Hihihi

  2. So many stories like this have I, of those sultry nights and frigid winters alike, so long ago.
