Standing at the Roadblock

Guided to a path that looked difficult

But I wanted to explore

Took a few steps onto its rockiness

Before asking for your hand

The journey seems very rough

Its end is so uncertain

So when I asked you to go along

You placed a roadblock to impede my feet

I’m still standing in front of that sign

Reaching my neck around to view the trail

Praying to the clouds that, if I go, I may prevail

I’m too scared to ask your for help again

And I’m willing to venture alone

But I’ll still wait here a little while

To see if you change your mind about navigating this road
