I walked the Earth
With my eyes to the ground
And fell into a hole
I found a shovel
That had probably been used
To create this pit
And started to dig
Thinking I could find
A way out or the other side
But I found nothing
Except more and more dirt
When rain began to pour
I thought I might drown
So finally I
Turned my head to the sky
To yell at the clouds
And noticed all of the ladders
That had been hanging
While I was too busy digging

I donโt mind giving clarification:) I mostly felt like I never truly looked to God growing up, I always kept my eyes and mind set to Earthly things. While looking at the ground I stumbled into a dark place in my life yet still I refused to look up. Instead I continued to deepen the hole I fell into, thinking I could still save myself using Earthly things (the shovel). I think the rain is a metaphor for God trying to get my attention and when I turned to argue with Him I finally realised He only wanted to offer help.
