Bitterness

The first definition of bitterness:

Sharpness of taste; lack of sweetness

The second: resentment

Those definitions go hand in hand

When used to describe your demeanor

Life tossed too many lemons

Leaving a gaping hole in your compassion

Even the sweetest of fruits or richest of chocolates

Could not mask or wash out your disdain

But I have heard our taste buds change

If you would only give it time

You can find the sweetness of honey again

And allow the acrimony to leave your mind
