I often walked too fast for you
So I reached for your hand
Hoping to pull you along beside me
But instead you gave me your heart
I emptied all my pockets to hold it
And with that I took the lead
Slowly walking out of your eyesight
I didn’t want to be too far out of reach
So I began to leave a trail
With the only thing I continued to carry
Small bloody bits here and there
But you never caught up
And I ran out of pieces
